Carr & Duff replaced the existing electrical distribution and riser in the 5-story Dental School facility. The new system is 13.2kv to 120v/208v three phase four wire system, which replaced the existing 5kv to 120v/240v two phase five wire system.

The new system installation included a new 15kv primary medium voltage interrupter switches, 500kva substation transformer with a 2000 AMP main distribution board. Additionally, Carr & Duff installed a new 1200 AMP bus duct riser, one 150kva three phase to two phase changer, seventeen retrofit panels to replace the existing two-phase panels throughout the building as well as emergency lighting inverters. Installation of the new service as well as panel change outs required off-hour scheduling and coordination with the facility to minimize interruptions for medical classrooms.
