PIA Ramp Lighting Upgrade

Project Overview

Carr & Duff was awarded the Ramp Lighting Upgrade Project at the Philadelphia International Airport which included replacing the existing, low efficiency concourse lighting with 50 new LED 60’ high mast light poles and 200 passenger boarding bridge LED task lighting fixtures across Concourses B, C, and D. The project also involved the installation of new distribution and lighting control equipment for the new lighting package.

Performing as the prime contractor, C&D provided oversight on the installation of the structural foundations supporting the high mast poles. This required timber piling and concrete deliveries in close proximity to airplane traffic as well as public access areas. C&D worked in close coordination with owner representatives, airline stakeholders, as well as City Inspectors to keep property and personnel safe and minimize the impact to airline business operations.

This successful project was completed ahead of schedule beginning in June 2022 with substantial completion in August 2023.
